Dog Daycare FAQ
Do dogs like to go to doggy daycare?
Older dogs can thrive just as well in doggy daycare. If anything, they might think of it as a mini vacation from home where they get to play with friends, chase balls, or relax and bathe in the sun.
Our staff monitors all dogs here at our DC area doggy daycare ranch. They are always under supervision, meaning that we will notice if your dog needs to adjust better to daycare. This is often the case with dogs that have separation anxiety. If you are aware of your dog’s separation anxiety or other issues that might make doggy daycare stressful, please inform our staff. Anticipation can help us better give your dog an enjoyable, stress-free experience. At K-9 Divine, we care about your dog’s health.

Why is doggy daycare good for my dog?
On top of the social benefits, exercise is another benefit of taking your dog to doggy daycare. It’s no secret that dogs love chasing each other, playing tug of war over favorite toys, and sprinting after balls. At our dog ranch, they get to do all that and more under the supervision of our round-the-clock staff!
With all the play and socialization, dogs experience mental stimulation which helps them whether they are young or old. This mental stimulation helps dogs stay healthy as they age!

Will there be downsides to enrolling my dog or puppy in a daycare program?
Telltale signs that doggy daycare may not be good for your dog include:
- Separation Anxiety: There are levels of anxiety, and lower levels can be overcome and improved upon, but if your dog throws a fit when you’re away, then doggy daycare may have negative effects on them. An example of this would be if your dog suffers from panic attacks when the person that they are super-bonded to is away.
- Undersocialized Dogs: Dogs that are nervous around people or other dogs may not enjoy doggy daycare. They may also be a danger to other dogs and staff if they feel threatened or cornered, increasing the risk that they may bite an employee.
How do I prepare my dog for daycare?
We also request that you come by the ranch here in Nanjemoy, located in Southern Maryland, adjacent to Washington DC, for a socialization visit so that we can make sure that he/she is friendly with other dogs. This will help you and your dog be more familiar with the environment, granting you peace of mind. Contact us to see about taking a facility tour!
